Ad un passo dalla vigna siamo rimasti sospesi,  in ammirazione del perfetto lavoro svolto da Madre Natura al Podere il Pozzo.
Una sinestesia di odori e colori ha intrecciato i nostri sensi . In contemplazione della generosità e bellezza della terra, si accende il desiderio di raccogliere a piene mani quei grappoli che sembrano gioielli.
Mentre ci accingiamo a iniziare il lavoro, ci torna alla mente Audrey Hepburn davanti alla vetrina di Tiffany...

Near the vineyard, we were in suspense in admiration of the perfect job done by Mother Nature at Podere il Pozzo.
The synesthesia of smells and colors has braided our senses. In contemplation of the generosity and beauty of the land, it turns on the desire to gather handfuls of those clusters that look like jewelry.
While we are going to start work, he goes back to mind Audrey Hepburn at the window of Tiffany ...

In perfetta continuità con l'annata 2015, abbiamo avuto trovato il nostro calestro decisamente asciutto. Tuttavia, grazie alle riserva d’acqua accumulata durante questo inverno e primavera assai piovosi, le piante hanno avuto una vegetazione sana, senza alcun tipo di stress.
Durante l'estate, temperature mai eccessivamente elevate e buone escursioni termiche durante la notte hanno fatto in modo di rimarcare quel carattere leggendario del frutto raccolto nel Chianti Rufina.
La resa del frutto è stata regolare, grazie a qualche pioggia di fine agosto, mai violenta e seguita da bellissime giornate di sole, calde e ventilate. Ottime condizioni per completare la maturazione del nostro Sangiovese.

In perfect continuity with the year 2015, we had found our galestro very dry. However, thanks to the water reserve accumulated during this winter and this spring very rainy, the plants have had a healthy vegetation, without any kind of stress.
During the summer, temperatures are never too high and good temperature during the night made sure to point out the legendary character of the fruit harvest in the Chianti Rufina.
The yield of the fruit is regular, thanks to some rain in late August, never violent, followed by beautiful sunny days, hot and windy. Very good conditions to complete the maturation of our Sangiovese.

Osservando gli acini perfettamente sani e privi di qualsiasi traccia di muffa, ricoperti da quel prezioso strato opaco biancastro, la pruina, che ne impedisce l'eccessiva disidratazione e aiuta a trattenere i microorganismi necessari alla fermentazione del mosto. La buccia intatta fornirà al vino sostanze coloranti come gli antociani e i flavoni, il tannino nobile, i lieviti (saccaromiceti) e gli aromi (terpeni).

Observing the perfectly healthy grapes and free from all traces of mold, covered with that precious white opaque layer, the bloom, which prevents excessive dehydration and helps to retain the microorganisms necessary for fermentation. The peel intact will provide the coloring matter to the wine, as the anthocyanins and the flavones, the noble tannins, the yeast (Saccharomyces) and the aromas (terpenes).

I vinaccioli, che non sono altro che i semi della vite, sono regolarmente presenti con il loro carico di sostanze antiossidanti (polifenoli).

The vinaccioli, that are no more than the seeds of the vine, are regularly present with their load of antioxidant substances (polyphenols).

Un ulteriore risultato incoraggiante per il nostro percorso verso la certificazione di vino biologico che non resta priva di insidie. Per esempio, quest'anno abbiamo subito diversi danni da incursioni di branchi di cinghiali. Questo flagello che ha colpito negli ultimi anni moltissimi agricoltori toscani, è oggetto di una contesa politica molto accesa. Appelli alla Regione sono stati lanciati da Coldiretti e anche dalla neonata Avito, l'associazione che riunisce tutti i consorzi vinicoli della Toscana, in modo da partire con la piena attuazione della legge obiettivo contro l'emergenza degli ungulati (presenza quattro volte superiore alla media nazionale).

Another encouraging result for our path towards the certification of organic wine that does not remain without pitfalls. Tentando di DI-VINARE il vino che berremo nel 2018, possiamo immaginare un carattere sontuoso e vellutato con enormi potenzialità di affinamento. I valori di zucchero e di acidità sono in linea con quelli delle migliori annate degli ultimi 50 anni. I profumi potenti che abbiamo avuto modo di assaporare durante la pigiatura dell'uva fanno sperare nello sviluppo di aromi vellutati tendenti alla frutta a bacca rossa (ciliegia, mora, uva spina).  Probabilmente si otterrà una gradazione alcolica tra i 12 e i 13 gradi. Le alte quantità di tannini permetteranno di confezionare ottime riserve e rinnovare la naturale longevità tipica del Chianti Rufina.

Trying to di-Wine the wine that we'll drink in 2018, we can imagine a sumptuous and velvety character with enormous potential of aging. The sugar and acidity values are in line with those of the best vintages of the last 50 years. The powerful scents that we got to enjoy during the crushing of grapes give hope in the development of a velvety aroma tending to red fruits (cherry, blackberry, gooseberry). Probably you will get an alcohol content between 12 and 13 degrees. The high amount of tannins will allow to pack good reserves and renew the natural typical longevity of Chianti Rufina.

Chianti Lovers LatAm Tour 2016

Chianti Lovers sbarca in America Latina! E’ iniziato proprio in questi giorni il Chianti Lovers LatAm Tour 2016, il primo tour del Consorzio del Vino Chianti in Sud America. Quest’anno il Consorzio ha infatti deciso di intraprendere questo tour promozionale per costruire nuovi rapporti commerciali e incrementare l'export in aree dove il vino toscano è ancora poco conosciuto. Le 25 aziende associate aderenti, per un totale di oltre  50 diverse etichette, saranno presentate al pubblico latino in 5 diverse tappe attraverso 4 diversi stati. Per questa prima esperienza è prevista solo una partecipazione istituzionale del Consorzio Chianti, senza la presenza dei produttori. In particolare le Cantine Bellini saranno presenti con il Chianti D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini, Chianti Rufina D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini, il Toscana Rosso I.G.T. Cantine Bellini e il Chianti Rufina D.O.C.G. Podere il Pozzo Annata.

Chianti Lovers lands in Latin America! It's started in these days the Chianti Lovers LatAm Tour 2016, the first tour of the Chianti Wine Consortium in South America. This year the Consortium has decided to undertake this promotional tour to build new business relationships and increase exports in areas where the Tuscan wine is still little known. The 25 member companies participating, for a total of over 50 different labels, will be presented to the Latin audience in five different stages through 4 different States. For this first experience it is only provided an institutional participation of the Consorzio Chianti, without the presence of the producers. In particular, Cantine Bellini will be present with Chianti D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini, the Chianti Rufina D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini, the Toscana Rosso I.G.T. Cantine Bellini  and the Chianti Rufina D.O.C.G. Podere il Pozzo.

Il tour è partito lunedì 3 ottobre dall’Avana con il XIII “Fiera Internazionale del Vino Europeo per i mercati dell’America Latina – Habana Vini”.  L’evento, che nel settore ha eco in tutto il mondo, è meta ormai consueta per il Consorzio Vino Chianti, che vi partecipa per la sesta volta consecutiva con uno stand istituzionale dove sono state presentate le etichette di Chianti D.O.C.G. (incluse sottozone, Riserve, Superiori, Vin Santo del Chianti D.O.C.) delle aziende partecipanti. Nel corso dell’evento si è in tenuto anche un Seminario Professionale sulla Denominazione Chianti e incontri B2B con importatori internazionali. Presso il “Salon 1930” è stata presentata una combinazione di culinaria, sigari, liquori e vini provenienti da tutto il mondo. All'evento hanno partecipato una vasta gamma di specialisti nel mondo del vino come barman, assaggiatori, produttori, distributori, rivenditori, sommelier, enologi, cuochi ed imprenditori provenienti da diverse imprese cubane e straniere.

The tour started on Monday 3 October from Havana with XIII "International Fair of European wine to the Latin American markets - Wine Habana". The event, which in the industry has echoed around the world, is now an usual appointment for the Consorzio Vino Chianti, which participates for the sixth consecutive time with an institutional stand where the Chianti D.O.C.G. labels are presented (including sub-zones, Reserves, Superior, Vin Santo del Chianti D.O.C.) of the participating companies. During the event you are also held a Professional Seminar on the Designation Chianti and B2B meetings with international importers. At the "Saloon 1930" it was presented a combination of culinary, cigars, spirits and wines from around the world. The event was attended by a wide range of specialists in the wine world as a barman, tasters, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, sommeliers, winemakers, chefs and entrepreneurs from different Cuban and foreign companies.

La seconda tappa si è svolta venerdì 7 ottobre a Varadero presso l’elegante resort a cinque stelle Ocean Varadero Patriarca dove sono stati inseriti in programma, oltre alla consueta degustazione di vini Chianti, anche due seminari professionali dedicati agli operatori, sommelier e ristoratori della Isla Grande.

The second stage took place on Friday 7 October in Varadero at the elegant five-star resort Ocean Varadero Patriarca where they were placed in the program, in addition to the usual tasting of Chianti wines, two professional seminars dedicated to operators, sommeliers and restaurateurs in Isla Grande.

 Il 10 ottobre trasferimento a Panama City, presso l’elegante resort Club Union de Panama. Qui sarà tenuto un seminario guidato e una degustazione di tutte le etichette partecipanti.

On October 10 the tour will transfer to Panama City, at the elegant resort Club Union de Panama. Here it will be held a seminar and a guided tasting of all the participating labels

 Il tour si sposterà quindi in Perù, a Lima, presso la Viniteca, una delle più grandi e fornite enoteche della capitale con cui lavoriamo già da qualche anno.

The tour then moves to Peru, in Lima, at the Viniteca, one of the largest and provided shop of wine of the capital with whom we work for some years.

L’ultimo appuntamento è previsto invece presso l’Hotel Poblado Plaza a Medellin, in Colombia. Qui sarà tenuto un seminario guidato e una degustazione di tutte le etichette partecipanti.

The last appointment is instead provided at the Hotel Poblado Plaza in Medellin in Colombia. Here it will be held a seminar and a guided tasting of all the participating labels.

 “E’ fondamentale – spiega Marco Alessandro Bani, direttore  – che in questo percorso di promozione anche le istituzioni italiane supportino la Denominazione per garantire una più efficace penetrazione in nuovi mercati compresa la semplificazione delle procedure burocratiche per introdurre il vino in questi Paesi. Occorre poi ribadire la necessità di accordi bilaterali per la riduzione dei dazi di importazione e tutela della denominazione dei marchi aziendali.”
