GUSTARUFINA 2012.

The Chianti Rufina Consorzio dedicates a strategic space inside the "Gusta Rufina" to promote a synergy between the various souls of production in our area.

The event called "The excellence of the short chain", will take place on May 24 at 18.30 at Villa Poggio Reale of Rufina.
In the presence of the Regional Agriculture assessor Gianni Salvadori, the Provincial Association of Breeders, the Association of Butchers and the Consorzio Chianti Rufina will show you how small and medium-sized commercial farms are able to offer to this area the opportunity to qualify the offer of meat of high quality chain with zero kilometer combined with excellent wines.

After an "institutional" part with greetings and interventions of various local authorities present, there will be dinner with Chianina meat, Chianti Rufina and stagionale vegetables (organized in collaboration with the restaurant "Toscani da sempre" of Pontassieve) . The dinner will be attended by all members of the consortium and by everybody that, if interested, will want to participate, at the modest sum of 15 euro per person.

We believe it is important to communicate the production choices of quality and value and offer new opportunities for promotion to all who work daily in an attempt to make agriculture sustainable on the point of view  economic and, at the same time, try to guard and protect the territory.

The number of butchers of small and medium-sized family-run , sometimes with features of historical and generational tradition, is really relevant and is witness to a market still healthy and that deserves to be supported, in contrast with a standardized consumption of large retailers.

All the agricultural sector of our territory requires a network of communication and relationships that has the duty to communicate with the world of catering and tourism, creating the conditions for a sustainable employment strategy and planning that looks to the future, order to give substance to the daily efforts to overcome an economic crisis increasingly burdensome.

"COME DIVENTARE SOMMELIER IN 50 MINUTI...BEVENDO CHIANTI RUFINA"

We present the first event not to be missed at the Gusta Rufina of this 2012: the performance "HOW TO BECOME A SOMMELIER IN 50 MINUTES ... DRINKING CHIANTI RUFINA", which mocks the excesses of the wine lovers.

The performance will be held Wednesday, May 23, at the theater Cestello, in the center of Florence, at 8 p.m.. Admission is free but with reservation by writing an email to fogliatonda@gmail.com.
After the performance a rich aperitif offered to the participants from the Consortium of Chianti Rufina.

The actors of the commedy are Leonardo Romanelli, writer, journalist, educator in the field of wine and food and author of the same show and the florentine comic Alessandro Masti.

Romanelli makes a parody of the same world to which he belongs: a sommelier who teaches to taste the wines of Chianti Rufina in a sommelier course. Under the guise of teaching the basic rules for a thorough tasting, the bumbling teacher moves away from its role as academic, highlighting what are the tics that characterize most fanatical fans, that with friends prove to be only able to "amaze" (read "bores them"!), thundering through words, gestures and attitudes almost ridiculous.

Alessandro Masti will fall in the guise of student teetotaler that wants to know the nectar of Bacchus without knowing in what situations paroxysmal will be involved ... in a crescendo of hilarity engaging for all audiences!

The time to learn to pick up a glass and make a historical overview of this noble drink, giving to the end, between a laugh and the other, the desire to know more ... also about the Chianti Rufina!

We present reviews of wines Cantine Bellini and Il Pozzo published on the magazine
"Wine&Spirit magazine" of April.

The review of this prestigious American magazine is particularly significant because to the very selectively meter of judgment.

The quality of the wines Cantine Bellini has comparisons in international  field more and more and, to have an idea of the tests that our products must face, we have brought a brief essay of the process of evaluation of  Wine&Spirit, available on this link.

"The aim of the journal is to obtain suggestions from a vast universe of  tasters to help us decide that it is worth to recommend wines, and to avoid  any prejudices that any critic can exercise, consciously or not, so as to  prevent to consider certain styles of wine or certain categories of wine.

The wine from 80 to 85 are recommended as good example of the variety or particularly representative of their region.
The wine from 86 to 89 are very recommended.
From 90 to 94 are excellent, and 95 or more are superlative, very rare.

The wine that we recommende here were selected from a wide range of  palates educated, even if reviewed by a critical individual. Our goal is to provide, with these votes, a point of view consistent

on wine tasting over time."

“Vino fresco e fruttato, giusta acidità, tannini ben bilanciati.

"Chianti D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini 2010" was chosen as Best red wine by the Japanese magazine "Danshi-shokudou" published in April 2012. Theme of this month is "Fantastic Wine Grand Prix".

Six of the top Japanese sommliers have judged the best wine between 331 bottles by blind tasting divided in two group: one of the bottles of 1,500 yen (about 15 euros) and one of the others of 1,000 yen (about 10 euros).

The magazine says that the best-selling price range for the wine for the home drinking is 500 -1,000 yen (about 5 - 10 euros), which is about 50% of total sales in the wine shops.
The second group, between 1,000 -1,500 yen, is about 26%. This result mean that, in total, the wine for the home drinking belong to one of these price range.
"Chianti D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini 2010" got 13 points (the maximum is 15 points) and won the prize as the best red wine of the group under 1,000 yen.

The comments of the judges sommeliers were:
"It has fresh and fruit, exceeded acidity, and well-balanced tannin. This wine makes daily supper enjoyable!"
