Per raccontare la terza edizione dell'evento anteprima ChiantiLovers vorremmo dare una chiave di lettura particolare ... non incentrata principalmente sul vino ma sull'altra faccia della manifestazione: gli assaggiatori!
Cosa sarebbero i nostri vini senza una nutrita schiera di curiosi che vogliono "sentirli" e "scoprirli"???
To talk about ChiantiLovers, the third edition of wine's preview, we would like to give a special interpretation ... not focused primarily on wine but on the other side of the event: the tasters!
What would be our wines, without a large group of curious people who want to "hear" and "discover" them???
Vorremmo stilare una specie di decalogo (o una guida) da poter proporre anche al visitatore più scettico, magari quasi astemio, e annoiato al solo sentir parlare dell'evoluzione della filiera del vino in Toscana.
We would like to draw up a kind of handbook (or a guide) that could be offered also to the most skeptical visitor, possibly almost a teetotaler, and bored by the mere mention of the evolution of the wine industry in Tuscany.
L'unico requisito davvero fondamentale per godere a pieno di questa degustazione di Chianti è una buona dose di curiosità e una buona compagnia con cui condividere l'esperienza. Non è richiesta nessuna preparazione particolare, nè accademica, nè fisica. Consigliabile, per poter affrontare al meglio la serata, aver fatto una leggera merenda, per non arrivare al momento della degustazione completamente a stomaco vuoto.
The only really fundamental requirement to fully enjoy this tasting of Chianti is a good dose of curiosity and a good company to share the experience. And it requires no special preparation, nor academic, nor physical. We recommended, in order to better address the evening, making a slight snack, not to arrive at the time of tasting with completely empty stomach .

L'entrata probabilmente rappresenta il momento più critico: al visitatore appare un grande salone con più di 100 stand, tutti molto simili, presieduti da aziende che operano su tutto il territorio toscano. L'impatto iniziale potrebbe intimorire un novizio o un inesperto e il senso di vertigine prendere il sopravvento ma...niente paura!
The entrance is probably the most critical moment: to the visitor appears a large hall with more than 100 stands, all very similar, chaired by companies operating on the entire territory of Tuscany. The initial impact may intimidate a novice or an inexperienced, and the dizziness take over ... but do not worry!
Basta recarsi presso lo stand 47 (Cantine Bellini) o lo stand 57 (Podere il Pozzo) per essere guidati con semplicità alla scoperta delle meraviglie sensoriali che questi vini sanno raccontare.

Si prendono in mano i calici che ci accompagnano alla ricerca di preziosi bouquet (senso del tatto). Durante la mescita, viene introdotto l'assaggio con l'indicazione dell'uvaggio e i tempi di maturazione (senso dell'udito). Si cerca di inquadrare la sfumatura di rosso riflessa nel bicchiere, roteando lentamente il vino (senso della vista).
Take in hand the glasses that accompany us in search of precious bouquet (sense of touch). During pouring, it is introduced to the tasting with an indication of the blend and the timing of maturation (sense of hearing). It tries to frame the shade of red reflected in the glass, slowly swirling the wine (sense of sight).
Portando il bicchiere verso il naso, gli occhi si chiudono e si inizia a focalizzare l'emozionalità scaturita dalla concentrazione di gusto e olfatto: sensazioni che è raro mettere sotto esame anche solo per gioco.

Per poter continuare gli assaggi in modo da potersi costruire un metro di giudizio personale è indispensabile l'uso della sputacchiera. Non è assolutamente necessario bere il vino degustato.
In order to continue the tastings so you can build a personal yardstick it is essential to use the spittoon. There is no need to drink the wine tasted.
Il pomeriggio sembra volare tra uno stand l'altro ... perchè il vino catalizza una grande partecipazione; le sue gesta passano di bocca in bocca, alimentano racconti e leggende. A fine serata viene servito un ottimo aperitivo con prelibatezze della cucina toscana per fare onore alle bottiglie in esposizione.
The afternoon seems to fly between one stand and an other...because the wine catalyzes a great turnout; his exploits pass from mouth to mouth, feeding tales and legends. In late evening it served as an aperitif with Tuscan cuisine delicacies to do honor to the bottles on display.
Per concludere adeguatamente la degustazione di vini, non dimenticare di tornare ai vostri stand preferiti per brindare con i produttori con il vino dell'annata che più vi ha ispirato. Uscendo si porta a casa il ricordo ancora vivido di un'emozione unica.
To finish properly the wine tasting, do not forget to go to your favorite stand to toast with producers of the wine that has most inspired you. Exiting, takes home the still vivid memory of a unique experience.
