DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS 2013

Con rinnovata fiducia per il 2014, siamo orgogliosi di mostrare la nostra riconferma anche per l'anno l'appena trascorso ai Decanter World Wine Awards. 

I Decanter World Wine Awards sono considerati la più importante competizione nel mondo del vino, anche grazie al rigoroso processo di valutazione cui sono sottoposte le bottiglie partecipanti. 

Nel 2013 la giuria era composta da 219 rinomati esperti internazionali, tra i quali, quest’anno per la prima volta, anche 75 Masters of Wine e 13 Master Sommeliers: i nostri prodotti di punta sono stati premiati tra ben 14.362 vini provenienti da 52 paesi diversi.

Jean-Michel Valette M.W., uno dei giudici del D.W.W.A. 2013, ha affermato durante un’intervista: “L’organizzazione del D.W.W.A. recluta i migliori degustatori del mondo per assaggiare ogni singolo vino in gara, pertanto ottenere una medaglia è sicuramente qualcosa di cui andar fieri!” e Steven Spurrier, il Chairman dell'evento 2013, ha aggiunto: “I D.W.W.A. hanno raggiunto la loro autorevolezza grazie ai giudici, all’organizzazione e a tutto il personale che vi lavora. Il nostro compito è riconoscere la qualità, questo è quello per cui siamo qui!".

I premi per la nostra Cantina quest'anno sono stati la medaglia di bronzo per il Rosso Toscano I.G.T. Comedìa 2009 e per il Rosso Toscano I.G.T. Le Lodole e la menzione speciale per il Chianti Rufina Riserva D.O.C.G. 2009.

With renewed confidence for 2014, we are proud to show our confirmation for the passed year at the Decanter World Wine Awards.

The Decanter World Wine Awards is the world’s leading wine competition, thanks to its rigorous judging process that the participants bottles undergo.

In 2013, the jury was composed of 219 renowned international experts, including, this year for the first time, 75 Masters of Wine and 13 Master Sommeliers: our flagship products have been well rewarded among 14,362 wines from 52 countries different.

Jean-Michel Valette M.W., one of the judges of D.W.W.A. 2013, has say during an interview: “What the D.W.W.A. team has really done is to recruit a panel of the very best palates in the world to taste each wine, and so when a wine wins a Decanter Medal in this competition, it’s something to be truly proud of!” and Steven Spurrier, the 2013 chairman, added “The D.W.W.A. has arrived at an authority, thanks to the judges, the organisation, thanks to the whole packaging. We’re here to recognise quality, that’s all we’re here for!”.

This year, our winery has earn a bronze medal for the Rosso Toscano I.G.T. Comedìa 2009 and for Rosso Toscano I.G.T. Le Lodole and the commendation for Chianti Rufina Riserva D.O.C.G. 2009.

FLORIDA 2013. Ottime Note sullo scaffale

Dopo il rientro dal viaggio promozionale presso le sedi della Total Wine & More della Florida, chiudiamo il nostro diario dando appuntamento a tutti gli appassionati americani alla prossima vetrina internazionale in programma nel nostro paese: il Vinitaly 2013.

Ci piace riservare però, ancora un piccolo spazio a una curiosa usanza del personale specializzato nella selezione delle forniture di zona.

Questi addetti della Total Wine & More, al momento della selezione periodica dei migliori vini usati per rifornire i punti vendita, lasciano "una nota" direttamente sullo scaffale dove viene esposto il prodotto. In questo modo, tutti i clienti possono vedere quelli che sono i giudizi e le opinioni personali degli esperti del settore, direttamente a fianco al prezzo della bottiglia.


After returning from the promotional tour at the headquarters of Total Wine & More of Florida, we close our diary giving appointment to all the American fans to the next showcase international program in our country: Viniyaly 2013.

We still like to reserve, however, a small space to a curious custom of the personnel specialized  in the selection of the supplies.

These employees of Total Wine & More, at the time of periodic selection of the best wines used to supply retail shops, leave a "note" directly on the shelf where the product is exposed. In this way, all the customers can see what are the personal views and opinions of experts in the field, directly next to the price of the bottle.

Naturalmente è stata una grande soddisfazione notare, durante il nostro tour, diversi commenti positivi. Anche un semplice visitatore del nostro stand ha voluto omaggiarci con un suo commento.

Of course it was a great satisfaction to note, during our tour, several positive comments.
Also a simple visitor of our booth wanted to tribute with his personal comment.

Vogliamo, quindi, dare spazio anche a questi semplici riconoscimenti, proprio come i premi importanti che finora abbiamo celebrato.

L'orgoglio di essere giudicati come prodotto d'eccellenza è sempre grande: sia in patria che dall'altra parte del globo; sia che il giudizio venga da un'importante rivista di settore o da un semplice appassionato.


We want, therefore, give space to these simple awards as we make with the big ones .

The pride of being judged as a product of excellence is always great: both at home and across the globe, regardless of whether the claimant is from a major magazine or a simple fan.

TUTTE LE RECENSIONI WINE&SPIRIT DEL 2012

Wine & Spirit è un mensile inglese che tratta di vini, alcolici, birre e cocktails, diretto sia ai produttori che ai consumatori. Il mensile si occupa, tra l’altro, di stilare le due più importanti classifiche annuali nel campo del mercato internazionale di vini e alcolici, la "International Wine Challenge” e la "International Spirits Challenge”, che vengono poi pubblicate ogni anno nel libro World's Best Wines Guide.

Considerato che l'anno 2012 ci ha incoronato con importati recensioni e voti d'eccellenza, ci piace tracciare un profilo complessivo che il sito ha redatto sui prodotti.

L'augurio più sincero che possiamo fare per il prossimo anno è di poter continuare a lavorare al meglio per portare sempre sulle tavole di tutto il mondo un vino sincero che esalti il gusto dei cibi e della compagnia.


Wine & Spirit is a british monthly magazine on wine, spirits, beers and cocktails, directed at both consumers and the drinks industry. The magazine also organises two of the most important wine challenges: the annual "International Wine Challenge" and the "International Spirits Challenge", and publishes the annual results book, the World's Best Wines Guide.

Since in the year 2012 we were crowned with imported reviews and ratings of excellence, we like to draw an overall profile that the site has written about products.

The sincerest wishes that we can do for next year is to continue to work to bring more and better on tables all over the world an honest wine that enhances the flavor of food and the company.

IL PODERE IL POZZO SULLA GUIDA D'AGATA E COMPARINI 2013!

Alle porte dell’arrivo dell’anno nuovo una ottima notizia per le Cantine Bellini: il Chianti Rufina Vigna Vecchia 2009 Podere il Pozzo è stato introdotto all’interno della “Guida ai migliori vini d'Italia 2013” di Ian D'Agata e Massimo Comparini che racconta ogni anno i migliori vini usciti in commercio.

La selezione descrive i migliori vini dell’anno con punteggi pari o superiori ai 90 punti,  in quanto considerati “vini d’eccellenza”, ed aggregati secondo tre macroregioni, nord, centro sud d’Italia e isole. Il punteggio indica una valutazione degli autori e del panel di degustazione. I vini della selezione rispecchiano le esperienze di ogni degustatore, una miscela di sensibilità e conoscenze diverse del mondo del vino italiano ed internazionale che si coniuga nelle valutazioni finali.

Questa la descrizione completa del Podere il Pozzo come presente nella recente pubblicazione:
"Un gioiello, questa piccola azienda della Rufina, che sforna ottimi vini di fattura elegante e sostanziosa. Molto buono già il Chianti di entrata di gamma, questo Riserva invece beneficia di viti più vecchie e quindi il vino ha più complessità e profondità. Catrame, thè, violetta, cacao e frutti rossi maturi la fanno da padrone".


At the gates of the arrival of the new year is arrived a great news for the Podere il Pozzo: Chianti Rufina Vigna Vecchia 2009 Podere il Pozzo was introduced in the "Guida ai migliori vini d'Italia 2013", writed by Ian D'Agata and Massimo Comparini, that shows, every year, the best wines come out on the market.

The Guide describes the selection of the best wines of the year with scores greater than or equal to 90 points, as they are considered "excellent wines" and aggregate them into three macro-regions, north, central and southern Italy and the islands. The score indicates an assessment of the authors and the tasting panel. The selection of wines reflects the experiences of each taster, a mixture of different sensitivity and knowledges of the world of Italian and international wine, that are combined in the final evaluations.

This is the complete description of the Podere il Pozzo in this recent publication:
"A little known jewel, this little estate that produces an excellent level entry-level Chianti: the VignaVecchia is even better since the vines are older and the resulting wine deeper and more complex. Minerals, violet, dark cherry tea leaf and tar are always there on the nose and in the mouth with a long finish".

La prestigiosa rivista internazionale, riunendo una giuria composta da rinomati esperti internazionali, ha premiato i nostri prodotti di punta tra i circa 12.000 vini provenienti da quasi 50 paesi diversi.

Quest'anno hanno ottenuto una medaglia d'argento il Rosso Toscano I.G.T "Le Lodole", 2008 e il Rosso Toscano I.G.T. "Comedìa", 2008 e una medaglia di bronzo il Chianti Rufina D.O.C.G. "Podere il Pozzo" 2010 e il Rosso di Toscana I.G.T. "Canto Lupo" .

La recensione di questa prestigiosa rivista americana è particolarmente significativa, per il metro di giudizio utilizzato estremamente selettivo.

La qualità del Vino Cantine Bellini ha sempre più riscontri in campo internazionale e, per avere un'idea delle "prove" che devono affrontare i nostri prodotti, abbiamo riportato un breve saggio del processo di valutazione di Wine&Spirit, consultabile a questo indirizzo

" L'obiettivo della rivista è quello di attingere a un vasto universo di assaggiatori per aiutarci a decidere che vale la pena di raccomandare i vini, e per evitare i pregiudizi che un qualsiasi critico possa esercitare,

The review of this prestigious American magazine is particularly significant because to the very selectively meter of judgment.

The quality of the wines Cantine Bellini has comparisons in international  field more and more and, to have an idea of the tests that our products must face, we have brought a brief essay of the process of evaluation of  Wine&Spirit, available on this link.

"The aim of the journal is to obtain suggestions from a vast universe of  tasters to help us decide that it is worth to recommend wines, and to avoid  any prejudices that any critic can exercise, consciously or not, so as to  prevent to consider certain styles of wine or certain categories of wine.

The wine from 80 to 85 are recommended as good example of the variety or particularly representative of their region.
The wine from 86 to 89 are very recommended.
From 90 to 94 are excellent, and 95 or more are superlative, very rare.

The wine that we recommende here were selected from a wide range of  palates educated, even if reviewed by a critical individual. Our goal is to provide, with these votes, a point of view consistent

on wine tasting over time."

Recensione da 10 e lode sulla rivista giapponese "Danshi-shokudou"

"Chianti D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini 2010" è stato scelto come miglior vino rosso nella classifica pubblicata nel numero di aprile della rivista Giapponese "Danshi-shokudou". Il tema del mese era "Fantastic Wine Grand Prix".

Sei tra i migliori sommelier giapponesi hanno assaggiato e giudicato ben 331 bottiglie di vino suddividendole in due categorie, quelle con un prezzo tra i 1500 e i 1000 yen l’una (corrispondente ad un range tra circa 15 e 10 euro) e quelli con un prezzo inferiore ai 1000 yen (10 euro).

La rivista afferma che il miglior range di prezzo per una bottiglia ad uso domestico varia tra i 1000 e i 500 yen (tra 10 e 5 euro), valore che corrisponde a circa il 50% delle bottiglie che si possono trovare in un comune negozio o enoteca. Il secondo range, che corrisponde a circa il 26%, è costituito dalle bottiglie che appartengono ad una fascia di prezzo tra i 1000 e i 1500 yen. Questo significa quindi che le bottiglie più adatte ad un consumo domestico hanno un prezzo medio che oscilla tra i 500 e i 1500 yen l’una.
"Chianti D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini 2010" ha ottenuto 13 punti (su un massimo di 15) e ha vinto il premio di miglior vino rosso nella categoria dei vini con prezzo inferiore ai 1000 yen.

Si riporta di seguito il commento dei giudici sommelier:
“Vino fresco e fruttato, giusta acidità, tannini ben bilanciati. Questo vino rende piacevole la cena di tutti i giorni!”

"Chianti D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini 2010" was chosen as Best red wine by the Japanese magazine "Danshi-shokudou" published in April 2012. Theme of this month is "Fantastic Wine Grand Prix".

Six of the top Japanese sommliers have judged the best wine between 331 bottles by blind tasting divided in two group: one of the bottles of 1,500 yen (about 15 euros) and one of the others of 1,000 yen (about 10 euros).


The magazine says that the best-selling price range for the wine for the home drinking is 500 -1,000 yen (about 5 - 10 euros), which is about 50% of total sales in the wine shops. 
The second group, between 1,000 -1,500 yen, is about 26%. This result mean that, in total, the wine for the home drinking belong to one of these price range.
"Chianti D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini 2010" got 13 points (the maximum is 15 points) and won the prize as the best red wine of the group under 1,000 yen. 

The comments of the judges sommeliers were:

"It has fresh and fruit, exceeded acidity, and well-balanced tannin. This wine makes daily supper enjoyable!"

Il Chianti Bellini 2010 è un vino facile che apre con spezie essiccate, pepe bianco e frutti rossi, per poi proseguire nel palato con una fresca acidità e una leggera consistenza.
Si accompagna bene ad un piatto di pasta al pomodoro.

Bellini 2010 Chianti: 84 points
Bellini’s easygoing Chianti opens with dried spice, white pepper and red fruit, following to the palate with fresh acidity and a lean consistency.
Pair this wine with a heaping plate of pasta and tomato sauce.

Bellini Chianti 2009: 84 punti
Leggero, acceso e fresco, questo Chianti rubino si accompagna bene ad un piatto di pasta o ad una pizza.
E’ un vino sottile e corposo con un fresco retrogusto fruttato.

Light, bright and crisp, this ruby-colored Chianti would pair with simple pasta dishes or take-out pizza.
It’s a thin, compact wine with a fresh berry close.

Podere il Pozzo Chianti Rufina Riserva 2008: 89 punti
Questa riserva di Chianti Rufina, ottenuto da storici vigneti, mostra una vivace acidità con sottili sfumature di frutti di bosco, mirtilli, mandorle e viola mammola.
Ha un retrogusto medicinale che ricorda la cola o di erba tagliata.

Podere il Pozzo Riserva Chianti Rufina 2008: 89 points
This riserva from the Rufina region (from old vines) shows bright acidity and very fine nuances of forest berry, cranberry, white almond and blue flowers. 
There’s a medicinal element that recalls cola or chopped herbs on the close.

Bellini Chianti Rufina Riserva 2007: 87 punti
Invecchiato in botti per due anni, questo Chianti Rufina Riserva ricorda il sapore di spezie dolci, tabacco e cedro spagnolo, un retrogusto di frutta fresca.
Il Chianti Rufina vanta vigneti posti su colline piuttosto alte e di conseguenza questo Sangiovese presenta una vivace acidità

Bellini 2007 Riserva Chianti Rufina: 87 points 
Aged in oak for two years, this Chianti Rufina Riserva shows deep layers of sweet spice, tobacco and Spanish cedar followed by bright berry fruit. 
Rufina boasts high vineyard altitudes and consequently this Sangiovese-based wine shows bright acidity.

Bellini Comedìa Rosso di Toscana 2009: 87 punti
Il Comedìa è un blend di Sangiovese (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon e Merlot che offre un immediato aroma di spezie, mandorle tostate e ciliegie. Si presenta fresco, con una vivace acidità e facile al palato, che fanno sì che si accompagni bene al pecorino stagionato.

Bellini 2009 Comedìa Rosso di Toscana: 87 points
Comedìa is a blend of Sangiovese (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that delivers immediate aromas of spice, toasted almond and cherry fruit. It shows crisp, fresh acidity and an easy mouthfeel that would pair well with aged pecorino cheese.

Bellini Le Lodole Rosso di Toscana 2007: 85 punti
Si ha un leggero retrogusto di cerotto o di pelle quando il vino resta più a lungo nel bicchiere. 

Ciliegia e mandorle sono gli aromi principali e questo blend di Sangiovese (80%), Merlot e Cabernet rende il vino semplice e fresco in bocca.

Bellini 2007 Le Lodole Rosso di Toscana: 85 points
There’s a touch of Band-Aid or used leather that falls to the background the more the wine spends time in the glass.
Cherry and white almond are the leading aromatic accents and this blend of Sangiovese (80%), Merlot and Cabernet is simple and fresh in the mouth.

Speziato, leggermente erbaceo, con aroma di frutti rossi all'olfatto. Molto voluttuoso, di carattere e luminoso. Aroma di ciliegia, note di cannella e di mora.

Spicy, slightly vegetal, meaty black fruit nose. Voluptuous with depth, character and polish. Savoury cherry, cinnamon notes to blackberry fruit.

Purtroppo non sono piu' disponibili bottiglie del Chianti Bellini 2008 e quindi non sarà possibile segnalare la menzione speciale... ma siamo fiduciosi di confermare il premio per la prossima annata.


Decanter, the international wine magazine, has awarded two major awards
to our wines.

The "Podere il Pozzo" Chianti Rufina, Tuscany 2007 has awarded the Bronze medal and the Bellini Chianti Tuscany 2008 has awarded the Commended Medal.

On the bottles of Chianti Rufina "Podere Pozzo" 2007 that we have yet, we will add a sticker to celebrate the victory.

Unfortunately there aren’t more available bottles of Chianti Bellini 2008, and so isn’t possibile to indicate the special mention…but we are confident to confirm the award for next year.
