Decanter World Wine Awards 2018

La degustazione del 2018 del Decanter World Wine Awards si è tenuta presso la Vintners Hall di Londra il 2 luglio.

Un team di 275 giudici, tra cui molti dei massimi esperti del mondo, hanno assaggiato 16.983 vini. Alla fine della competizione hanno assegnato 50 medaglie Best in Show, 149 medaglie di platino, 439 medaglie d'oro, 3.454 medaglie d'argento e 7.079 medaglie di bronzo. The 2018 tasting of the Decanter World Wine Awards took place at the Vintners Hall in London on 2 July.

A team of 275 judges, including many of the world's top experts, tasted 16,983 wines. At the end of the competition they awarded 50 Best in Show medals, 149 platinum medals, 439 gold medals, 3,454 silver medals and 7,079 bronze medals. Per quanto riguarda l'Italia,  i vini vincitori sono dominati dalle uve Nebbiolo, Sangiovese e Corvina.

Anche quest’anno le Cantine Bellini hanno ottenuto numerosi riconoscimenti: riportiamo di seguito i premi ottenuti per il Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. 2016 Cantine Bellini, Chianti Classico Riserva D.O.C.G. 2015 Cantine Bellini, Chianti Riserva D.O.C.G. Cantine Bellini 2013, Rosso Toscano I.G.T. Comedia 2013 Cantine Bellini, Rosso Toscano I.G.T. Dominante 2015 Cantine Bellini.

For Italy, the winning wines are dominated by Nebbiolo, Sangiovese and Corvina grapes.

Decanter World Wine Awards 2016

Tra il 25 ed il 29 aprile si è svolta presso la  Tobacco Dock a Londra la settimana di degustazione delle commissioni Decanter World Wine Awards.
Oltre 16 mila vini, giunti da tutto il mondo, sono stati giudicati da 240 esperti, 69 Masters of Wine e 26 Master Sommeliers, al fine di stilare la consueta classifica, che è stata pubblicata on line in questi giorni.
Per quanto riguarda l'Italia, le medaglie sono principalmente concentrate in Toscana e Piemonte: segno evidente di un'attenzione privilegiata di Decanter verso queste due regioni enologiche italiane.

Anche quest’anno le Cantine Bellini e il Podere il Pozzo hanno ottenuto numerosi riconoscimenti: riportiamo di seguito i premi ottenuti per il Chianti Rufina Riserva 2013 Cantine Bellini, il Dominante annata 2013 Cantine Bellini, il Chianti Rufina Riserva 2012 Podere il Pozzo e il Chianti Rufina 2014 Podere il Pozzo.

Between 25 and 29 April was held at Tobacco Dock in London the week of tasting of the commissions of the Decanter World Wine Awards.
Over 16,000 wines came from all over the world were judged by 240 experts, 69 Masters of Wine and 26 Master Sommeliers in order to draw up the usual ranking, which was published online these days.
As for Italy, the medals are mainly concentrated in Tuscany and Piedmont: an evident sign of privileged attention of Decanter towards these two Italian wine regions.

Also this year Cantine Bellini and Podere il Pozzo have won many awards: here the awards obtained for the Chianti Rufina Riserva 2013 Cantine Bellini, the Dominante 2013 Cantine Bellini, the Chianti Rufina Riserva 2012 Podere il Pozzo and the Chianti Rufina 2014 Podere il Pozzo.

Per il 2015,  il "Chianti Rufina Riserva" si riconferma come campione perfetto per rappresentare le caratteristiche principali della nostra zona di produzione.
Riconquista il podio "Le Lodole", premiato anche nel 2012 e nel 2013, che rinnova la sua fama di titolata etichetta storica.

For six consecutive years our company has been counted among the winners of this important international award, unequivocal signal of the constant care of the quality of our wines.
For 2015, the "Chianti Rufina Riserva" is reconfirmed as perfect sample to represent the main features of our production area.

Chianti molto fresco e fragrante, con frschi sentori di frutti di bosco e viola, catrame e mela. Molto limpido e pulito, pur conservando le sue proprie caratteristiche.

Stile: Still - Dry (inferiore a 5 g / l di zucchero residuo)

Tasting notes:
A very crisp and appetising Chianti with cool, crushed berry fruit and hints of violets, tar and apple. Very polished and clean but retaining its soul.

Style: Still - Dry (below 5 g/L residual sugar)

Note di degustazione:
Questo vino vanta un naso complesso con un buon carattere di frutta e note di catrame. Al palato è elegante e sofisticato, con una buona finitura.

Tasting notes:
This wine boasts a complex nose with good fruit character and notes of tar. The palate is smart and sophisticated at this price point with a good finish.

Siamo orgogliosi di annunciare la nostra riconferma anche per questo anno ai Decanter World Wine Awards. La prestigiosa rivista internazionale, riunendo una giuria composta da rinomati esperti internazionali, ha premiato uno dei nostri prodotti di punta tra i circa 12.000 vini provenienti da quasi 50 paesi diversi.

La nostra Cantina quest'anno ha ottenuto una medaglia d'argento per il Chianti Rufina Riserva D.O.C.G. 2011.
Riportiamo per intero il commento alla degustazione che ci ha fatto aggiudicare il premio:
"Brillante, profumo di lampone schiacciato, freschezza della menta, aroma di vaniglia all'olfatto. La luminosità segue il palato con un attraente sapore di amarena, bella succosità e tannini morbidi. Schietto, efficace per un bel pranzo, lascia un finale sapido. Luminoso ma non appariscente."

We are proud to announce our reconfirmation for this year at the Decanter World Wine Awards. The prestigious international journal, bringing together a jury of renowned international experts, has awarded to one of our award-winning flagship products a medal between approximately 12.000 wines from nearly 50 different countries.

This year, our winery has earn a silver medal for the Chianti Rufina Riserva D.O.C.G. 2011.
Here the tasting notes that we did award the prize:
"Bright, crushed raspberry, cool mint, vanilla nose. Brightness follows on the palate with attractive sour cherry fruit, lovely juiciness and soft tannins. Frank, effective with lovely lunchtime weight and a savoury finish. Bright but not flashy".

DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS 2013

Con rinnovata fiducia per il 2014, siamo orgogliosi di mostrare la nostra riconferma anche per l'anno l'appena trascorso ai Decanter World Wine Awards. 

I Decanter World Wine Awards sono considerati la più importante competizione nel mondo del vino, anche grazie al rigoroso processo di valutazione cui sono sottoposte le bottiglie partecipanti. 

Nel 2013 la giuria era composta da 219 rinomati esperti internazionali, tra i quali, quest’anno per la prima volta, anche 75 Masters of Wine e 13 Master Sommeliers: i nostri prodotti di punta sono stati premiati tra ben 14.362 vini provenienti da 52 paesi diversi.

Jean-Michel Valette M.W., uno dei giudici del D.W.W.A. 2013, ha affermato durante un’intervista: “L’organizzazione del D.W.W.A. recluta i migliori degustatori del mondo per assaggiare ogni singolo vino in gara, pertanto ottenere una medaglia è sicuramente qualcosa di cui andar fieri!” e Steven Spurrier, il Chairman dell'evento 2013, ha aggiunto: “I D.W.W.A. hanno raggiunto la loro autorevolezza grazie ai giudici, all’organizzazione e a tutto il personale che vi lavora. Il nostro compito è riconoscere la qualità, questo è quello per cui siamo qui!".

I premi per la nostra Cantina quest'anno sono stati la medaglia di bronzo per il Rosso Toscano I.G.T. Comedìa 2009 e per il Rosso Toscano I.G.T. Le Lodole e la menzione speciale per il Chianti Rufina Riserva D.O.C.G. 2009.

With renewed confidence for 2014, we are proud to show our confirmation for the passed year at the Decanter World Wine Awards.

The Decanter World Wine Awards is the world’s leading wine competition, thanks to its rigorous judging process that the participants bottles undergo.

In 2013, the jury was composed of 219 renowned international experts, including, this year for the first time, 75 Masters of Wine and 13 Master Sommeliers: our flagship products have been well rewarded among 14,362 wines from 52 countries different.

Jean-Michel Valette M.W., one of the judges of D.W.W.A. 2013, has say during an interview: “What the D.W.W.A. team has really done is to recruit a panel of the very best palates in the world to taste each wine, and so when a wine wins a Decanter Medal in this competition, it’s something to be truly proud of!” and Steven Spurrier, the 2013 chairman, added “The D.W.W.A. has arrived at an authority, thanks to the judges, the organisation, thanks to the whole packaging. We’re here to recognise quality, that’s all we’re here for!”.

This year, our winery has earn a bronze medal for the Rosso Toscano I.G.T. Comedìa 2009 and for Rosso Toscano I.G.T. Le Lodole and the commendation for Chianti Rufina Riserva D.O.C.G. 2009.

Speziato, leggermente erbaceo, con aroma di frutti rossi all'olfatto. Molto voluttuoso, di carattere e luminoso. Aroma di ciliegia, note di cannella e di mora.

(Red - Still)
Spicy, slightly vegetal, meaty black fruit nose. Voluptuous with depth, character and polish. Savoury cherry, cinnamon notes to blackberry fruit.

La menzione speciale per il Podere il Pozzo 2008 e la menzione speciale per il Podere il Pozzo 2009.

Sulle nostre bottiglie ancora disponibili verrà aggiunto un bollino per celebrare la vittoria.

Powerful smoked fruits, tamarind paste and herbs; sweet porty start leading to roasted dark fruits with a tannic finish.

Purtroppo non sono piu' disponibili bottiglie del Chianti Bellini 2008 e quindi non sarà possibile segnalare la menzione speciale... ma siamo fiduciosi di confermare il premio per la prossima annata.


Decanter, the international wine magazine, has awarded two major awards
to our wines.

The "Podere il Pozzo" Chianti Rufina, Tuscany 2007 has awarded the Bronze medal and the Bellini Chianti Tuscany 2008 has awarded the Commended Medal.

We are very proud of these important medals, won on a selection of over 10,000 different wines.

On the bottles of Chianti Rufina "Podere Pozzo" 2007 that we have yet, we will add a sticker to celebrate the victory.

Unfortunately there aren’t more available bottles of Chianti Bellini 2008, and so isn’t possibile to indicate the special mention…but we are confident to confirm the award for next year.
