SFIZIOSE RICETTE.

The arrival of summer has given us an opportunity to talk about a recipe that combines, with amazing results, the most common elements of the kitchen.

We're talking about the soft and fragrant "Wine Pastry".

It’s easy to find a lot of different recipes on web, but this pastry, not expensive and dietary, that is an affordable alternative to the common puff pastry, does not seem to be well known.

The ingredients are:

* 300 gr plain flour
*120 ml of Toscana Bianco Cantine F.lli Bellini
*80 ml seed oil
*1 tablespoon salt

As you can see, unlike the common pastry, or brisée, there isn’t any hint of butter.

The preparation is simple and fast. Sieve the dry ingredients into a large bowl, then add the wine and the oil and work slowly for few seconds, until the pastry is homogeneous. The pastry is very elastic and immediatly ready to use: it doesn’t need any leavening.

If the pastry is too dry, add some wine. If the pastry is too wet and soft, add some flour.

If you are accustomed to using the puff pastry, you’ll be surprised of how the wine pastry is easier to rolling out.

Roll out the pastry  in a baking tin and prick with a fork. Then, put on the ingredients of your quiche.

The
most suitable quiches  are with vegetables.

While the quiche bakes in the oven, your kitchen will be inebriated by an inviting scent and you will be anxious to taste your quiche.

Baked in oven for 20-30 minutes (it depend to the ingredients of the quiche) at 200°C.

If you want to try with red wine, the best recipe is the onion quiche

GUSTA RUFINA 2010. Manifestazione decapitata

Despite the work of the consortium Chianti Rufina to try to include the event in the calendar of events in May in Florence, there will be no occasion to taste the wine in restaurant, library or wine bar of the center of Florence.

The sponsoring organizations of the past editions of Gusta Rufina have pulled back, giving way to the Festival of Ice Creams, that is held exactly the week that the last year was dedicated to our tastings.

A pity because the third edition would have had the potential to crown the success of last year and attract a large  audience.

With the deleting of the initiative permanently, we have lost the promotional efforts made in previous years, wasting them, thinking to the variety of initiatives related to the "Maggio Fiorentino" with which the Gusta Rufina could enter into synergy.

To take a simple example, would be enough to organize a tasting of wines from Rufina linked to the free opening night of the main museums ... and why not, directly inside the museums.

Very little would be enough to save an initiative that had been so successful in the last years and that, probably, could be an occasion to make known a product that represent Florence ... because let's face it ... Florence is not particularly famous for the ice cream.
